GIMD first established in July 1969 by Dr. Salem Altuhaih under the name of Kuwait Advertising Company.(KAC) At that time management training and consulting are a new to Kuwaiti. Advertising can be the key to management development and training. Through advertising one can study the market and propose the necessary recommendations in the area of management training and consulting. Many changes happened since the established of (KAC). Government regulation for the training and consulting changed, and the name of the company also changed to (GIMD). GIMD objectives providing to include training in the areas of management sciences and business administration, online training, computer sciences, and management consultant training. GIMD is the first training institution licensed to offer online training in Kuwait. It has done pioneering work in the field of distance education and training in Kuwait. Over the years from experience in online training, and feedback gathered from the outgoing trainees.
